Content Providers can enable their video for Zinc
ZeeVee announced an important new capability that allows users and content owners to add content into Zinc with little or no effort. Content owners usually describe and share their content through Media RSS (Real Simple Syndication) – an evolving Internet standard. Media RSS feeds allow for the organization and description of various media content, and also provide notifications to users when new content is available. Because Zinc uses a full Web browser interface, users can explore the entire Web, and easily add any video content available through these feeds. That content is then automatically formatted and presented consistently for optimum living room viewing. ZeeVee has also added capabilities that allow users to control the playback of that content using a standard remote control. Tutorials and examples to help content owners create standard Media RSS feeds are available at www.zeevee.com/zinc/developers.
Until now, ZeeVee decided what content to include in Zinc, and performed all of the organization and presentation of that content. Content owners and users can now expand Zinc at will.
Users can browse to websites with RSS feeds of video, preview them in Zinc and add them to their Favorites without having to develop special applications. This dramatically increases the amount of internet content available to be viewed in a 10 ft experience. As users find interesting content on the web we encourage you to share the feeds you find with the community.
