How do I create my own "root" or "main-level" tiles menu

I am still hoping that somehow I can create my own root-level feed organization so I have full control over the content that my viewers are presented with. Is this possible? Is there a properties file that I can tweak to have zinc download my main menu instead of going to the zeevee site for this?
